Parish Event » Blessing of Pets

Saturday, October 7 at 12:30 pm
on the front lawn of the School and Creed Center on 77th Avenue.

St. Francis of Assisi is known by both tradition and myth for having
a special rapport with animals and a deep love and concern for all God’s creation.

In honor of St. Francis, we will have our annual Blessing of Pets.
Everyone in the parish is welcome to come with pets of all kinds:
dogs, cats, birds, fish, rodents or reptiles.
We would suggest that you keep the last four above-mentioned creatures in bowls or cages,
and the first two on leashes or securely in your arms.

The ceremony starting at 12:30 pm will begin with a few brief prayers and a reading.
Then all pets will be blessed individually.
